Description
Three cooks in crimson uniforms work a counter barely wide enough for their elbows — one ladles broth, another plates garnish, the third monitors a row of burners with the stillness of someone who has done this ten thousand times. Handwritten menus curl on the wall behind them, yellowed by years of oil vapor, framed by wooden slats dark with age.
The choreography of a kitchen too small for choreography. Every movement calibrated by repetition, not design. Warm light renders the red uniforms almost luminous against the weathered wood, and steam rises into a space where the ceiling is close enough to touch. Decades of service compressed into a room the size of a closet.
