Licensing & Usage
Three licenses. One file.
The footage byte itself doesn't change between tiers. What changes is the legal permission for what you do with it. Pick the tier that matches your project.

Commercial License
From $79 vertical · $99 landscape
This is a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual, royalty-free license between Sacraw Studios Inc. ("Sacraw") and the legal entity purchaser ("Licensee") for the licensed clip ("Footage"). Worldwide rights, no expiry.
1. Permitted use — includes everything in Social & Personal, plus:
- Client work performed by Licensee on behalf of one named end-client brand.
- Corporate marketing videos — internal communications, B2B sales tools, training, recruitment.
- Paid social advertising — including boosted posts, paid placements, and platform advertising — capped at fifty thousand US dollars (USD $50,000) in total media spend per individual campaign.
- Web and digital advertising — display ads, programmatic, retargeting — under the same $50K-per-campaign cap.
- YouTube channels of any size, including monetized channels above 100,000 subscribers.
- In-store and point-of-sale displays — looped or interactive — at a single location or a chain of locations operated by the Licensee or the named end-client.
- Branded podcast use, including monetized podcasts.
- Documentary film distribution — festival circuit, limited theatrical (under 50 screens), educational distribution.
- Trade-show, conference, and event use — including projection and screen content.
- Embedded use in software, apps, and websites operated by Licensee.
2. Prohibited use
- No national broadcast television (network or cable distribution at scale).
- No streaming-platform original content.
- No wide theatrical release (50+ screens).
- No paid advertising campaigns above $50,000 USD per single campaign.
- No out-of-home advertising — billboards, transit — projected to exceed 1,000,000 impressions per execution.
- No use by a different legal entity than the one named at purchase, except for contractors working specifically on the Licensee's project.
- All prohibitions from the Social tier (resale, sublicensing, NFTs, AI training, etc.) also apply here.
3. License holder
License is held by one legal entity (LLC, corporation, sole proprietorship, partnership, or equivalent), identified at purchase. Contractors and freelancers working on a specific deliverable for the Licensee may use the Footage in the course of that deliverable; the underlying license remains with the Licensee.
4. Upgrades
Licensee may upgrade to Broadcast at any time by paying the price difference. Upgrade activates a new license effective from the upgrade date.
5. Credit
Attribution appreciated but not required.
Broadcast & Extended License
From $199 vertical · $299 landscape
This is a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license between Sacraw Studios Inc. ("Sacraw") and the legal entity purchaser ("Licensee") for the licensed clip ("Footage"). Worldwide rights, no expiry. One-time entity transfer permitted.
1. Permitted use — includes everything in Commercial, plus:
- National broadcast television — network, cable, and satellite distribution — any country, any reach.
- Streaming-platform original content — Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount+, Peacock, and equivalent SVOD platforms worldwide.
- Theatrical release — wide release, including 50+ screens and international distribution.
- Out-of-home advertising — billboards, transit, building wraps, large-format projections — unlimited impressions, unlimited duration.
- Paid advertising — unlimited media spend per campaign.
- National and international tentpole campaigns — Super Bowl, World Cup, Olympics-adjacent media.
- Permanent installation — museum, retail flagship, public art, brand experience venues.
- Use in any platform, channel, or medium not explicitly prohibited below.
2. Prohibited use
- No resale, redistribution, sublicensing, or transfer of the Footage as a standalone file or as part of a stock-footage product.
- No use in a competing stock-footage library or marketplace.
- No use in template / preset / theme products that are themselves resold.
- No use in NFTs or blockchain-distributed media.
- No use in AI / machine-learning training datasets.
3. License holder
License is held by one legal entity. License may be transferred once, to a related entity — a parent, subsidiary, successor by merger, or asset acquirer of the original Licensee. Notice of transfer must be sent to hello@sacrawstudios.com within 30 days of transfer.
4. Credit
Attribution appreciated but not required.
Universal terms across every tier
Applies to all three licenses above
Worldwide rights, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive
All tiers grant the same baseline: use anywhere on Earth, no expiry, no per-project royalties, no per-impression fees. Sacraw retains ownership of the Footage and may license the same clip to others.
Delivery and file format
All tiers receive the same digital file at purchase — Apple ProRes master, full resolution, no watermark, no compression. Delivery via secure download link, valid for 14 days.
Refunds
Digital sales are final once the download link is generated. Tier upgrades within 14 days of original purchase are credited at the price-difference rate.
Audit and enforcement
Sacraw reserves the right to request reasonable evidence of license-tier compliance if there is credible indication of breach. License violations may be subject to invoice for the price difference, cease-and-desist, and civil action under applicable copyright law.
Indemnification
Sacraw represents that it owns or has cleared all rights necessary to grant the license. Licensee indemnifies Sacraw against claims arising from Licensee's use of the Footage outside the granted scope, including any misrepresentation of license tier at purchase.
Model and property releases
Sacraw does not provide model releases, property releases, or trademark clearances for any Footage. Licensee is solely responsible for obtaining any third-party rights required for their specific use case (e.g., people identifiable in a clip used in an ad).
No editorial-to-commercial conversion
Footage marked "Editorial Use Only" cannot be re-licensed under any of the three commercial tiers, regardless of price paid. Editorial scope is preserved.
Volume discount
Existing volume pricing applies per tier:
- 3+ clips of the same tier in one order: 15% discount automatically applied
- 10+ clips of the same tier in one order: 30% discount (code
COLLECTION30) - Discounts apply at the tier level, not across tiers — a buyer purchasing 2 Commercial + 2 Broadcast does not hit the 3-clip threshold for either tier.
Editorial-only clips
For clips tagged "Editorial Use Only"
Some clips in the Sacraw library are marked "Editorial Use Only" — typically clips featuring newsworthy subjects, identifiable people without model releases, or recognizable property/locations without releases. These clips do not ship under the three commercial tiers above. Instead they're licensed for editorial use under different terms:
Permitted editorial use
- News reporting and current-events coverage
- Documentary filmmaking
- Academic and educational publishing
- Editorial articles, books, and journals where the footage illustrates a newsworthy subject or matter of public interest
- Non-commercial blog and podcast content covering newsworthy topics
Prohibited under editorial license
- No advertising of any kind, paid or organic, commercial or sponsored
- No promotional content for a product, service, brand, or company
- No corporate or marketing use, even if framed editorially
- No tier upgrade — editorial scope is preserved; an Editorial clip cannot be converted to Commercial or Broadcast at any price
If you need similar footage for commercial use, browse the commercially-cleared catalog at /collections/all-footage — those clips are available under all three commercial tiers.
FAQs & edge cases
Common situations, plain answers
My YouTube channel is 95K subs. Which tier?
Social tier — at purchase time. If you cross 100K later, your existing usage is grandfathered; new uploads using the Footage past 100K need a Commercial upgrade.
I'm a freelance editor working for an agency. Who buys the license?
The agency (or its end-client brand) buys the Commercial license. You as contractor use the Footage in their project under that license — no separate license needed for you.
My documentary got picked up for streaming. What now?
If a Commercial-licensed doc gets picked up for streaming distribution, upgrade to Broadcast for the price difference before release. We don't backlist licenses — upgrades are forward-looking.
My ad campaign expanded beyond $50K.
Upgrade to Broadcast before exceeding the cap. The cap is per individual campaign, so multiple separate sub-$50K campaigns can each run under Commercial.
I bought Social and my use was actually commercial.
Self-upgrade by paying the difference (admin fee waived on first-time honest disclosure). If discovered without disclosure, you owe the price difference plus reasonable legal cost.
Can two people share one Social license?
No. Social is per-natural-person. Commercial is per-entity (so multiple employees of one company are covered). Broadcast is per-entity with one-time entity transfer permitted.
Can I use the Footage in AI training data?
No — that's prohibited under all three tiers. Sacraw Footage is not licensed for use in AI / machine-learning training datasets, regardless of tier.
Can I resell the file?
No — that's prohibited under all three tiers. You cannot redistribute the Footage as a standalone file or sell it as part of a stock-footage product.
