Street photography from cities around the world. Late nights at rail crossings, early mornings on empty platforms, wrong turns down side streets. Every shot is on location — never composited, never staged. The work lives in that space between architecture and atmosphere, where light does something worth printing.
Description
The camera tilts skyward from street level, compressing layers of illuminated signage — kanji in neon blue, izakaya lanterns in paper-white, vending machine glow in clinical cyan — against a sky bruised purple and steel grey. Storm clouds mass above the roofline, heavy with rain that hasn't arrived yet, turning the last daylight into something theatrical.
Dusk in a Tokyo commercial district. That ten-minute window where artificial light and natural light reach parity, and the city looks like it was art-directed. The vertical density of the signage, the horizontal sweep of the clouds, a single pedestrian blurred at the bottom edge. Blue hour compressed into a single frame.
